    Pastor Neal's Notes

         February 11, 2007

      *What was that, again?*

If you're like me, you don't always catch all the things that people tell you the first time around. Announcements, prayer requests, celebrations, and sermon points can be lost or forgotten very quickly. That's one reason that we send you the "Messenger" every week--it helps all of us to stay on track.

If you've missed a *sermon* you'd like to hear, or you've forgotten some useful points, just tell me, and I'll provide a copy of my manuscript. This manuscript is not a "finished" document--I don't have time to proof it carefully every single week. But it is the gist of what I preach.

In a similar fashion, if you missed last Sunday's Annual Meeting, you can still pick up the *Annual Report.* This document describes the work of many volunteer teams in our church. It also includes the annual budget and the statistical report. It provides a good "snapshot" of the people who make this church so great and the varied ministries that they support.

If you missed your *Whale Watch ticket*, it is too late! Every single one has been sold. But isn't it wonderful that Dan Salas and John Olguin have provided this fund-raiser for our choirs? And isn't it fabulous that so many people wanted to support it?

Speaking of wonderful people, I certainly appreciate *Tom and Kay Okino*, who helped our Student Ministry Volunteers to put on last Sunday's *"Sweetheart Brunch."* It's been a while since Tom and Kay had teenagers in our church, but they continue to serve us faithfully after all these years. Moreover, the *Student Ministry Staff* worked many extra hours to provide this brunch. The proceeds will support our Youth Groups. The fellowship was wonderful, and the food was great. Thanks, gang!

Finally, *please remember to pray* for the faithful, long time members of our church who are now ill. Then, if God leads, choose to ease their burdens by taking up one of the jobs that they must leave. Remember, you are a gift! /Use it/ for God's mission in the world.

I'll see you next week!

Neal
