"It's T-Shirt Sunday!"

This Sunday, July 31, is T Shirt Sunday here at First Presbyterian Church. On this Sunday, we invite everyone in the church to wear their favorite christian T Shirt, and we plan to recognize those who are wearing Vacation Bible School T Shirts. As in years past, we will even offer fun "prizes" to those who wear

• the most colorful VBS T Shirt

• the most artfully tattered VBS T shirt,

• the most "tenured" VBS T shirt, and

• lots of "runner up" contestants.

The purpose in all of this is to honor those adults and teens who have served so faithfully in this ministry throughout the years. Some of adults have actually been doing this for decades. 1 Peter 2:4-10 describes these people as "living stones" within the "spiritual house" of God, and I'll be preaching upon that text this weekend.

As always, this should be a fun kick-off to our church's week of Vacation Bible School. Thus, we hope you'll come to worship in good spirits, and we hope you'll bring your children, grandchildren, neighbors, friends, and great grandchildren with you to the "Sun Surf" VBS adventure that begins at 9 a.m. on Monday morning. If you haven't registered these children yet, don't worry. We always make room for more.

We are going to take our praise to our Creator outside!   On Friday evening, August 12, we will have a gathering at the park below the Korean Bell (the Joan Milke Flores Picnic Area).  Starting at 6:45, we will sing and pray as the sun sets over the Pacific.  Brought to you by the SEAL team (Rick Iwai, Erik Larson, Betsy Mantz, Kim Salas, and Christy Wade)--ask us if you have questions or want to help out!
